How to revive a dead phone – Technicians only

  1. Turn the phone on and check if the screen will display without light. Sometimes when the screen light is bad, it may appear to users the the phone is off even when it is not. If the screen works but without light, work on re-establishing the light connection or replace the screen
  2. Check the power key. Use a meter’s continuity to read the PWRKEY and the GND while holding the power button. If the meter make a sound then the power key is working. If it don’t, then check the flex connecting the PCB to the power button. If the flex is bad, make a jumper connection. you can also make a connection between the GND and the PWRKEY for automatic power on. If the flex looks good, try to open the power button and clean it up. Rust in the power button can prevent it from working. If the power button and its connection all look good, proceed to the next step.
  3. Service the phone. Clean the PCB (panel) thoroughly and then gently heat it. Try to start the device if it will work. If it does not, proceed to next step
  4. Check the USB charging port if it is roughly soldered. If it is, kindly correct the connection by replacing the USC charging port
  5. If all the procedures below fail to work, get a working PCB (panel) of the dead device and compare. Check if you can find any component (ic) that is missing in the dead panel. If you do not have a working panel, check our panel page and find your panel type.
  6. Flash the device if it will respond to a computer.
